How We Started
Evolution Aqua began over 20 years ago in Wigan, UK, with the invention of “The Answer,” a self-cleaning stainless steel mechanical fine-screen filter. This early innovation led to the development of the Nexus filter, which pioneered moving bed filtration for koi keepers.
The company continued to grow, introducing new technologies such as the Eazy, EazyPod filters, open-cell media as well as expanding into biological treatment with PURE products.
These early successes set the foundation for Evolution Aqua’s reputation as a leader in aquatic filtration.

Where We Are Now
Today, Evolution Aqua is an award-winning, industry-leading British manufacturer, proudly part of the Evolution Aqua Group. Over two decades, the company has grown from a specialist koi filtration provider into one of the most respected and internationally recognised brands in aquatics.
Our products cover ornamental ponds, freshwater and marine aquariums, commercial fish systems, fish farms, swimming pools and public aquariums worldwide. As filtration specialists, we offer patented, bespoke solutions including filters, dechlorinators, UV clarifiers and live beneficial bacteria treatments.
British Manufacturing
Our of Evolution Aqua products are designed, developed and manufactured in Wigan, UK. From moulding filter bodies on our Leonardo machine to producing open cell media on our extrusion lines, every step is managed on site to maintain the highest standards of quality.
Our PURE range is also produced and packaged entirely in-house, giving full oversight from development to delivery.
